Førvania is jubilant after declaring independence from the Commonwealth of Australia yesterday.
After school on June 16, Emperor Nicholai I was talking with Prince Stuart, Official Speedcuber about independence. Stuart seemed to approve of the idea. Later that day, the Emperor went to the post office to buy stamps. He then bought the stamps, before traveling to the offices of local MP Cindy McLeish. He rang the bell at the reception, before the receptionist arrived. Emperor Nicholai showed him the Declaration of Independence, at which he said, "Cindy's on the phone at the moment, but I'll get her when she's done." He then showed the Emperor into the meeting room. Roughly five minutes later, Mrs McLeish showed up. After greeting each other, the Emperor got down to business. He showed her the declaration, which she read. She then inquired about whether other micronationalists had owned the land they claimed. The Emperor responded by saying he did not own the land, but it was public land. He also mentioned that Prince Leonard of Hutt River made his nation on his farm to get out of paying taxes. Another question asked was what the future held for Førvania: the reply was that he would also send the declaration to Prime Minister Tony Abbott and Premier Daniel Andrews. After all this, the Emperor bid Mrs McLeish farewell, and came out of it with a sense of achievement, as the declaration had not been dismissed. Førvania is now claiming to be independent, and is planning to send an application form to the United Nations, the IOC, and FIFA.
